I was in the same section I had for Garth except I was a few rows higher up at the other end of the section. Mom went as well but we had split seats. I was relieved that nobody left their seat once Shania came on, didn’t get another chair bruise on my leg.

Gavin DeGraw kicked off the show about 7:45 ish. There was a little glitch and some of the lights were still on when he came out & started performing on the piano. I only recognized the chorus to “Chariot” and a good chunk of “Heaven”. He was on for about an hour. About halfway through his set he left the stage & walked around the outer skirts of where the floor meets the lower level seats & took a few selfies with fans.

Finally around 9:00 it was time for Shania! This was my first experience seeing her in person and she did not disappoint with lots of pyro, flames, lights, floating saddle, costume changes and a killer set list of her best known songs. The glitter at the end added another pop of fun. It was the mother of all shows in my opinion.

That is the biggest fringe I have ever seen! First song was “Rock this country”. Once the fringe coat came off the sparkly red outfit was revealed. Shania also wanted a “better look” at us so she got on a cart that took her around the same path that Gavin walked.

Another change of clothes (band performed instrumental Shania music) and then Gavin returned to duet on “Party for two”

Then it was time for the floating stage saddle. Since she couldn’t bring a horse in she just had the saddle to sit on. She looked pretty comfortable on it. I’ve seen this effect before in the documentary of what would have been Michael Jackson’s tour and also at Taylor Swift’s Red tour. Shania put her own stamp on it with the saddle.

Then she proceeded into “Today is your day” which was about the only song I didn’t really know well so I gave my voice a break and enjoyed her.

One last outfit change with another band instrumental. She walked out on the runway enough for me to get some nice photos. Red hot boots!

Everybody left the stage for the standing ovation. She came back to encore “Man, I feel like a woman” with the pop of glitter at the end.

So now I’m recovering from this while I amp up for Diamond Rio in Fargo this Friday! I will definitely be resting up this weekend, gonna put the “Do not disturb” on my door. It’s been a long, eventful, crazy, insanely fun month! I’ll remember this while I’m snowed in at my new apartment.

I spent many sleepovers listening to Shania’s music with my friends (they’d always ask me to bring it with) so I was pretty well familiar with 99% of the set list.
