If you come at me you&#8217;re gonna skype me or do a video call, I&#8217;m DONE! If you don&#8217;t have the verified checkmark you will be promptly reported and blocked, no $, gift cards or love from me. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>*If you&#8217;ve been suckered into sending money please <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usa.gov\/online-safety\">report<\/a> it to proper authorities!<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;ve personally been a victim myself years ago as a newer fan with social media starting to really take off, I trusted the wrong people. I had to go to police to clear my ID, bank accounts hacked etc. I recommend reporting and blocking anyone who makes you feel uneasy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to report fake accounts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/help\/174210519303259\">Facebook<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/help.instagram.com\/192435014247952?helpref=search&amp;sr=1&amp;query=report%20profile\">Instagram<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/help.twitter.com\/en\/safety-and-security\/report-twitter-impersonation\">Twitter<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to tell if it&#8217;s a fake profile<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">Some of you take your obsessions a little too far online, especially on social media. This makes YOU a target for scammers posing as your favorite artist, such as Kenny Chesney, Jason Aldean etc. So here are a few bits of advice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-list\"><li>The real celebrity accounts have a verified blue checkmark in a circle or similar shape. Some frauds have caught onto this, but ALWAYS look for the verified check!<\/li><li>Also the official accounts won&#8217;t have any _ or numbers or anything else other than the artist&#8217;s name with the verified check<\/li><li>Management likely runs the social media on behalf of the artist. They might see some of the stuff now and then, but NOT personally involved.<\/li><li>The real artist would NEVER give his or her phone number<\/li><li>The real artist would NEVER ask you for money, iTunes cards etc. If you send money, it\u2019s GONE honey.<\/li><li>Report the fake accounts and block them, then they can\u2019t bother you. Life is too short to cry over a fraud.<\/li><li>The American based artists usually have decent spelling &amp; grammar, so anything that looks off is more than likely not a native English speaker. Be suspicious of anyone contacting you from <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fbi.gov\/scams-and-safety\/common-fraud-schemes\/nigerian-letter-or-419-fraud\">Nigeria<\/a><\/strong> which is located in Africa, they&#8217;re a hot bed for scams! As a freelance artist myself I have to be careful and I only accept paypal or cash if meeting in person!<\/li><li>The male artist frauds tend to target women online for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Romance_scam\">romance scams<\/a><\/strong><\/li><li>If you need proof <a href=\"https:\/\/tineye.com\/how\"><strong>reverse search<\/strong><\/a> their profile photo on<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/tineye.com\/\">tineye<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; you&#8217;ll probably find many fake accounts then feel free to report them all!<\/li><li>See more <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/scamawareness.org\/\">common scams<\/a><\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">He doesn\u2019t pay much mind to fan-club chat on Facebook or Twitter: \u201cI\u2019m one of those people who think that the Internet is the devil. I don\u2019t have time to constantly tell people what I\u2019m thinking and what I\u2019m eating.\u201d Privacy is at a premium, Chesney says: \u201cAnd mine\u2019s not for sale.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">Welcome to the Sandbar also posted a&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/welcometothesandbar.com\/kenny-chesney-scammers\/\"><strong>warning<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/a>so if you\u2019re easily fooled maybe you should delete your social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">Kenny isn\u2019t the only one affected by fakes, it\u2019s industry wide and also can happen with any famous celebrity in movies etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">PS This is why I keep mine on my own fan site. I only follow and ineract with the official accounts online.
