Taylor Swift’s reputation tour

HOLY SHIT! Where do I begin? It all started last year with the verified fan program. I watched every video on that thing umpteen times (including her eating cookie dough), bought the reputation album, magazines (Target) & LWYMMD merch to boost my spot. I basically had first pick of the seats the first night of the pre-sale! I was disappointed that everything close was practically $500 and WAY UP so I went with upper level but a mini section right under the most upper level, front row of Section 313, Row A, seats 13 (mine) and mom sat by me in seat 14. I felt a little jipped – all that effort and I could only afford our upper level seating at just over $100 per ticket after fees. We’re in the Ticketmaster settlement so I wish they’d have waived the fees.

It was a long winter and I was very bored so I prepared my outfit a few months ahead of time and was so happy with it! Once I saw the rules for signs (no larger than 11×17 inches and no battery lights) I found some 11×14 sized poster boards at Wal-mart and did mine in full calligraphy by hand. I made mom’s shirt just weeks ago. I wrote it out on paper in calligraphy and simply traced it onto her shirt.

So after along wait yesterday was FINALLY show day! We had an uneventful drive, stopped at the bank atm so I’d have merch $$$. We stopped for lunch at the A&W in Glenwood, MN and we were both so damn full we didn’t eat until we stopped for after midnight snacks after the show. I didn’t get a chance to try the stadium chicken tenders & fries but I liked knowing the option was there right behind our section. We had to cross a pedestrian bridge after the show but we found the car pretty quickly and just had to maneuver through the traffic. We still had plenty of battery power on our phones for the google maps navigator to get us on the interstate home.

We arrived at the stadium parking shortly before 5 pm, parked and I arranged my stuff to get through the metal screening and enter with the moblie ticket at the proper gate. Everything went smoothly for us this time around since we were sent to the wrong gate at Kenny’s show. After we were through the mobile ticketing (I got mom’s up first and sent her through then quickly pulled up mine) and started up the escalators we found a merch booth right off the first escalator that wasn’t busy so stopped at that one. I spent $85 out of my $100 withdrawal but I got exactly what I wanted! Thankfully they had bags since I dropped my Kenny stuff over & over trying to get to our section.

Once we found our seats and sat down we had about 2 hours to wait before the first person (Charli XCX) would come out to perform. I used the nearest bathroom, mom bought us fountain Pepsis in cups (YAY! last time they could only sell bottled & canned stuff). We heard Kenny Chesney’s “Big Star” song on the stadium speakers and I was already having fun! I also heard Taylor’s “Babe” duet with Sugarland on the speakers before the show kicked off.

Charli XCX – She wore an irridescent see-through style outfit that looked kind of like plastic. She started off with “Boom Clap” and finished with “I love it”. Camila Cabello was on after that wearing a purple Vikings jersey! I don’t know as many of her songs. She ended with “Havana” but I think she started with “Never be the same”.

Taylor took the stage a little after 8:30 and started out with “Ready for it?” which is also the first song on reputation! The sound was much better than it was at Kenny! I was very familiar with Taylor’s music being a fan since the “Taylor who?” days. She did most of the songs on the main X shaped stage (X marks the spot – Getaway Car) but traveled in floating cages above the floor crowd to the 2 stages in the back! There was a secured, gated runway between those 2 stages so she could walk through to the other stage in the back. There was pyro and fire going through some of Taylor’s songs and we could feel the heat from the fire being so high up! Luckily it was a closed stadium with a roof so they blasted the a/c haha! Taylor put on a HELL of a show with less wait time during outfit changes than prior tours so it was practically non-stop! She brought out Charli & Camila for “Shake it off” on one of the stages in the back. I’ll end this here and let my videos and photos speak for themselves!
