Just like with the e-mail I’m not authorized to share the number she called from, but it definitely came from the Nashville TN 615 area code.
It had been 3 – 4 years since I got the e-mails from Taylor at this point. I had no chance to see her in concert since she was still opening for others and I was on the move – a LOT. I finally caught a show on Oct 11, 2009 just days before my birthday! I had lowers near the stage so I was happy with that. I had the best time ever experiencing prank night at my very first Taylor concert! I took tons of pics, sang along to everything & took videos of the pranks as they went down. Then I set up the Swift Sorority originally right here on webs.com during a semester of online college courses for web design. Then I got the chance to try out the Taylor Nation (site maker – no longer up).
I had wrapped up work on my test site and provided my feedback as I was preparing to fly home (GA) for my spring break in March 2010. I wasn’t flying out until Thursday the week before break would begin and I had all my class work done early. I was riding around town shotgun with my hair undone about to go bowling. The driver needed to stop off at another job site and run inside to do something, so I was just sitting there in the passenger seat. My cell phone started ringing (my ringtone at the time was the chorus to Taylor’s “White Horse” song) so I looked and I didn’t recognize the caller so I answered out of curiosity.
I could hardly believe it when Taylor herself was at the other end of the line! We chatted for a couple minutes but it felt longer than that. OMS, Taylor Alison Swift called me up just to say she liked the fan web site I made! I was so surprised I’m amazed I was able to speak at all! Luckily I remembered she was coming back to my area a couple months later and we didn’t have tickets, so I asked her how we could get them and even though we went through a lot to not miss any of Taylor’s performance, it was worth it. We had lowers on the opposite side that I had the first time and it was my 2nd time seeing her on the Fearless tour. No pranks, but it was still awesome to be there and close.
I’m not the only fan she called that day, here’s a video I found where she had to leave a message for another one. Most were at school, maybe a few at work but I had nothing to do so I answered and we talked!
