So the town I’ve been living in the past few years has run this annual event on a July weekend for pretty much my whole life (I remember attempting the children’s medallion hunt) and I attended frequently as a visiting guest from Dalton, GA.

Fast forward to tonight. I knew the churches had teamed up and got Sara Groves (I wasn’t sure who she was) and Mallary Hope who wrote Lauren Alaina’s “Georgia Peaches” song. So since I didn’t know much about Mallary either I tried to look her up online and all I got was her facebook, but I found out that she and I are from the same area of GA and were practically neighbors! We just met today about 1,200 miles from home. It was just so random that they would have an entertainer from my neck of the woods! Being from there I knew what kind of behavior to expect and I was not disappointed at all. She even gave me a shout out from the stage! I am definitely a fan now! I gave her my business card in case she’s interested in a real website and maybe next time we’ll get more of a chance to hang out if she comes back to perform again.
