Growing up in little prairie houses

It was fall 2018. Kenny was slowly rolling out a limited small scale tour (my dirty mind read stripped down the wrong way hehe!) When I finally saw a show for South Dakota I looked up the distance on a map, definitely doable! I upgraded to the premium fan membership and secured a couple of separate tickets for mom and I for last night.

It was raining when we got to the border just minutes away from Sioux Falls but I took a video anyway. I had pre-arranged a meet & greet with Caroline Jones online through her website and asked if I could meet David Lee Murphy or Kenny. I couldn’t meet Kenny and it KILLS ME that his vibe room was like 5-10 feet away but I was happy just to be behind the meet & greet curtain at all, but they allowed me to stay to meet David Lee! I walked up to Caroline and said “Hi, I’m Jennifer Jones and we can be sisters tonight!” We both laughed and I’m just waiting for her photographer to upload the photos to her site so I can grab mine. I have the photo with DLM on my good camera so I will be sharing both when I get the one with CJ!

When I met DLM he said I smelled good lol! I laughed a little and said “Say hi to Kenny” and he said he would, so Kenny if David Lee said hi from a good smelling girl it must’ve been me lol! I didn’t really smell like anything other than cheap Dollar Tree shampoo & soap from my home shower the night before. I scrubbed head to toe since I knew I was going to be in public. We also ordered pizza delivery to our motel room since there wasn’t many choices in the immediate area.

After checking out of our motel early this morning we found a Burger King for breakfast so we could take our meds and get something to eat. Then I had to make a quick Wal-mart run for a couple things I needed anyway and then we set out for Walnut Grove, MN where the Ingalls family lived forever ago. We ran into fog within 90 or so minutes from WG. They’re doing some bridge work so we were confused by all the Road Closed & detours but after an hour of trial & error we made it to the Laura Ingalls Wilder museum, holy cow is it NEAT! There are multiple buildings and a covered wagon on the site full of old things of what life was like for the Ingalls family.

Since I’m moving apartments in a week if you don’t mind I’d like to wait to share my concert photos until I’m done with the move-out, cleaning & reconnection in about 2 weeks, but for now I will share my backstage photos and from the cool museum we stopped at on our way back home today! The guy behind the counter in the gift shop knows a lot about the Ingalls, even more than she had written. I bought a couple of postcards with old photos of the real Ingalls family and children. Mom bought me a museum T-shirt for a 5 month early birthday gift haha thanks Ma!
