Garth & Trisha in Minneapolis

Here is my recount of the show. Despite the few headaches it was still the most awesome concert I’ve ever attended! He played 11 shows in Minneapolis but I only went to 1 of them.

The funny: A random guy leaving the first show high five-ing strangers on the sidewalk & shouting “People loving people”

The bad: Target Center has few entry points so it took a while to get in, especially with the last of the 1st show crowd exiting the building.

The rude: Someone taller, bigger rammed into my left shoulder & didn’t apologize. I live way out in the country and don’t live in a large city for this reason.

The good stuff:
Was worried about snow, so got a motel minutes away from the Northstar Big Lake station just in case. The weather was nice enough but we still took the train and avoided the headache of navigating downtown Minneapolis late at night, so we didn’t get shot.

The awesome & great:
Though the 2nd show didn’t start on time (the doors didn’t even open on time) but I had on a couple layers plus my jacket so I was warm enough waiting out in the cold & toasty warm once inside. Garth waited for us but the show began around 11:20 pm and ended about 1:30 am. Other than a couple of new songs in the set I was singing along to all the good ole familiar hits from the almost rafters.
I’m sitting down about to run my pics through Photoshop (optimizing & saving web versions) and will get videos posted asap. They will be available to view on the photos & videos page, but I might make a new page just for this!

I’ve been to a lot of shows as you can see but this one blew the rest away! Mom and I have waited at least 20 years for this and it was well worth it! We needed this after both having the same surgery earlier this year. Now to get through a long, cold winter that apparently will begin tomorrow. Only 8 months & 9 days ’til I’m back for Kenny Chesney just down the block!

The late:
The train left a little after 2:30 am from Target Field so we didn’t get to the car until after 3:30 am. We had to sit and wait for a stupid freight train to get out of the way before we even got to the 1st stop. We got to the motel about 4 am. We woke up a bit before 10 am, got dressed & hit the road to beat the winter storm heading our way.

I’m too tired out to deal with the videos today, but will be uploading them 1 by 1 through the week.
