Diamond Rio Ribfest Fargo ND 2017

It was a great show! Mom & I found open spots in the front row! Moments later radio asked me if I wanted backstage passes, uh YES lol! We briefly caught up with the guys & I gave Dana his DVD copies I’ve been working on. Will post more with pics when I’m home! We’re in a motel by the dome. Bad weather came a little too quick so they ended with Bubba. They’re still doing the same show they put on the Live CD. I think the newgrass medley could be done away with to make more time for their good ole music we all love.

I’m still coming down from the high of reliving the glory days and also feeling the concert hangover. It was great catching up with the guys backstage after so many years. Tony kept asking us from the stage how long we’ve been up here (10 years) since we went so often in the south they still remember us being there. He spotted my old hat first then noticed it was us. Jimmy snuck out of the meet & greet before we could get photos with him but we got the rest. No autographs but it’s fine, I’ve got plenty of those! I told each guy that I’m still adjusting to the climate here since that was a big change for me. After leaving the meet & greet we got back to the front since someone else was holding our spots.

I still remembered all the songs so if they ever forget like songwriter Monty Powell forgot the starting lines of Norma Jean Riley when he was performing that one for me I’ll be right there to remind them. It was very windy so Dana had one of the security guys give a pick right to my mom and I got another one at the end of the night. We’re so lucky we didn’t have a tornado warning!

Mom and I took each other’s backstage photos on my camera. She LOVED getting another hug from Gene! I’ll upload my front row concert photos very soon, I just have to put my name on those first!
