Diamond Rio Fayetteville, TN horse track

Josie (who got there at 10 central in the morning) was already there on the horse race track talking to a group of other fans. We mostly walked around and looked at stuff and rode the carousel since the admission included a ride armband! There was a big inflatable slide that resembled the sinking of the Titanic!

Finally after waiting the whole afternoon it was time for the meet & greet at 7:30! We walked back and waited then went in the building and when the guys were ready they came in a few moments later. Everyone applauded when they entered the room! First one I talked to was Dan (and I didn’t even st-st-st-st stutter!) and when he autographed my OMD promo I told him that I begged my work (K-mart at the time) to let me have it and he cracked up about that! Then we talked to the rest of them and most of my pictures turned out good from the show and all my meet & greet pics turned out great!

Then we went back to our seats and this guy behind us starts talking about Charlie Daniels. At one point in the show he said “I know this song, but I thought Charlie Daniels sung it!” and we laughed. Then he said “These guys are purdy, but I still think Charlie Daniels is purdier to look at!” & I retorted with “I think these guys ARE better looking than Charlie Daniels!” and he cracked up! Here’s the songs they sang and some comments I was able to scribble down real fast as they were talking.

Meet in the Middle, Love a little stronger, the medley of Oh me Oh my sweet baby, Holdin’, In a week or 2, Nowhere Bound, Mirror Mirror, Mama, This Romeo Ain’t got Julie yet, Bubba Hyde (end medley) then these comments from Marty:”How ya doin’, Fayetteville?” (with uproar from audience), talked about being an hour from home and then said “You know you guys have a lot of bugs here in Fayetteville,” a pause and then “because I just ate one!” and everyone cracked up! Talked about doin’ some of the old songs anyway and went back to playing Kentucky Mine, You’re Gone, Imagine That, and It’s all in your head.

More comments from Marty: “This song we’re about to play is about BBQ’s, watchin’ movies, hangin’ out, and all that kind of stuff!” cheers from audience and a giggle from Marty, but he was in control of them! Then he talked about their kids being on there & Sarah wanted to hear herself in the studio and they recorded her singing the opening to Sweet Summer & they were gonna play that like it was on the album for us. Back to the music with:

Sweet Summer, That’s just that (Marty said that would be their next single), and One More Day with the new ending. Dana then took the mike and started singing the chorus again and we helped out! He said that his son picked out his Batman shirt for him to wear, and that he’d wear it on the Grand Ole Opry for us because he can! lol! Then something else he didn’t want us to post! Then he said “Ricky Martin has never played around hay bales & pumpkins!” and shook his head! lol! Talked about the “Musical Journey” with the 3 kinds of “Ricky music” and he had the whistle! Then they played:

the “Musical Journey”, Norma Jean Riley & Unbelievable (after Marty asked if there were any girls in the audience!) then they went off for a moment but came back with an encore of How your love makes me feel
Then Marty said “How about it for Dana?” and went through the others ’til he got to himself, looked left & right and said “and me” and the crowd cheered the loudest then, especially me!
We got home at 1 in the morning after 12 hours of being gone!
