I have some big news! Some of it’s a bit of a downer like needing a root canal and my mouthful of fillings that need smoothing – boo! I also have little change in my thyroid medicine dosing as I’ve been instructed to alternate them daily and recheck in a few months, also blah.
Ok enough of the bad stuff, on to the GREAT BIG GOOD NEWS! So Kenny Chesney’s Blue Chair Bay Rum brand had a 12 day sweepstakes online with mystery prizes that changed every day and an empty bottle they put out just for Christmas and it turns out I won the day 11 prize, which was for Dec 23rd! And yes, that was the day after seeing Diamond Rio so the guitar pick Gene threw me must have been my good luck charm! When I read the e-mail I thought ok maybe it’s a shirt or something else small & simple, NOPE! I’ll let you read the exact e-mail I received below! I had just got home from my thyroid check up with an aching arm when I first read this message but have since taken care of the affidavit and submitted, so now I’m just waiting! I verified my address again today! I had like 90 entries in the end!

OMG I am going to have 3 acoustic guitars and multiple picks for someone who doesn’t really play much! I’m trying to learn a few chords but my left hand doesn’t want to make the chords properly at the moment, ha! I do not have my new guitar yet but you can see an image of it in the ornament, wow! Guess I’ll keep working on picking out the Tom Dooley song until my fingers decide they will cooperate haha! I have 2 other acoustic guitars, both autographed! I received the darker one when I turned 14 or 15, then mom won the lighter one just before we moved north and let me keep it! The first 2 are stacked under my bed, absolutely no idea where I’ll keep the new one just yet lol!
I have no intention of making a career in music but I would like to learn for fun just to play along with part of my itunes catalog from both digital and physical music in my collection! I have some sheet music for piano, vocals & guitar by Diamond Rio so I’ll get more from Taylor Swift & Kenny as I progress! I have installed yousician on my laptop which includes the tuning element for my guitar collection. I’ve tried everything except private lessons and just haven’t had much luck at learning.
