I decided not to ask mom to pay me back for seeing Kenny on May 5th when I saw that it’s roughly a week before Mother’s Day. It’s kind of our tradition to see him when he does the Twin Cities after moving up here from GA (we went to shows near us there too). I paid for her ticket so she’s on her own for food & drink lol!
It takes us 3 hours just to get from our tiny rural area to the cities and that’s just getting there! Counting the 3 hour drive home the day after it will be 6 hours in the car together!
Sure would be nice to get 2 meet & greets for Kenny! This is her 16th show and my 18th (I went to the keg show and the following show in Atlanta in 2006 with another relative). We went to 1 last Kenny show together in Atlanta, GA in September 2007 just before we moved up north.
She’s done so much taking care of me and my younger brother for 2/3 of my life since I had thyroid problems from the time I was born (requires constant medication and frequent blood draws) and diagnosed with mild autism as an adult. She was just recently diagnosed with diabetes. We both had our gallbladders removed in an urgent emergency 2 months apart as well. Music seems to take away all worries.
With the loss of her dad last year and recent hospitalization and nursing home admission of her mom (recently released to return home thank goodness) all I want is for Kenny to have the chance to hit on “everyone and their mother” lol!
She also babysits my brother’s son through it all
